What's an electric chopper that cuts lettuce?

What kind of electric chopper will chop salad- including Lettuce?
I get salad at a local salad place where you go in and choose your ingredients and then they put all the ingrediants you chose for your salad including the type of lettuce into a chopping machine. What comes out is yummy chopped evenly mixed ingrediants in a matter of seconds.

So I tried doing this in my food processor and no matter how little I tried pulsing it- it still cut the pieces of my salad way too tiny- almost to a salsa. Especially the leaves of lettuce.

What kind of chopper do you think these guys use? I’d really like to get one. I would totally eat more salads if all I had to do to make one was dump all the ingrediants in a machine at once and it spit out a nicely chopped salad.

What's better – a food processor, a chopper, or a blender?

I’m doing a wedding registry, and I’m not sure what would be better for me – a food processor, a chopper, or a blender? i thought a food processor since it can do what a blender can do except a blender does liquids. If there’s one that can do everything then that’ll be better…costs less and less appliances.
if i do a food processor – do i need a 7 cup or a 12 cup?
if i do a blender – how many speeds do i need?
my mom used a chopper – wonderful little thing, but we also had a blender

if a blender does the same thing as a food processor then why not a chopper & blender? i could do all 3, but i already have a kitchenaid mixer on the registry haha

Kitchen Aid Shredders vs. Food processors……help please?

Filed under: Electric Food Processors — admin at 12:45 am on Thursday, January 20, 2011

I’m getting rather confused. Went from liking Mandoline Slicers to not really liking them. I think a food processor would be IDEAL (one that is good with shredded cheese quickly & potatoes for homefries). Anyway, I was looking online here and saw something abt shredders/slicers? I think but not totally sure that those attach to a regular standard mixer? I might have one of those stored in the attic somewhere, never used so I have to go look but is that what they are or are they separate?

And what is best out of these 3….Mandoline Slicer, Food Processor or Shredder/Slicer thing?

Thanks.
And I know there’s other brands besides Kitchen Aid
I would like to make thin french fries, thin zucchini slices (I call it zucchini spaghetti; then I just cook it with olive oil & garlic, etc. I hand sliced one once. NOT again! Took WAY too long).

Also would like to make homefries.

Would like to shred cheese to make my own mac & cheese. I have a little chopper. I also have the magic bullet but I was thinking something more powerful, like a processor. My Bullet doesn’t do cheese all that well. And whatever else I can think of.

What is the best manual dicer for vegetables?

I looked at the reviews for several dicers on Amazon.com; The Nicer Dicer, The Vidalia Chop Wizard, Black and Decker Chopper, Bonzai Food Dicer, and few others. Prices vary.

I want a chopper that won’t bend or break when chopping onions or potatoes. I don’t mind paying a little extra for one that will last. I have a food processor but it’s bulky and uses electricity. I just want something simple to use and simple to store. Any ideas?

I have a Kitchenaid 3 cup Food Chopper….what should I do with it?

I also have the big food processor and stand mixer. With these two items, I have found that I rarely use the 3 cup mixer. What kinds of jobs would be good specifically for the smaller chopper?
